About
Daylight Check helps you see how much daylight fits into your day.
Choose a city. Explore a day.
Select one of 82 cities and a date, then drag the timeline to a time that matters to you. The two totals show how much daylight has passed and how much remains. Use Now to return to the current time and date in your selected city.
Use it to plan a walk after work, compare evening light before a trip, or see how the seasons change your city. All times follow the selected city’s local time zone.
Compare a whole year
The city rankings add daylight across every day of a calendar year. One score point represents one hour of daylight. The monthly bars show the seasonal distribution, which can matter more to your plans than the annual total.
A high annual score does not necessarily mean longer winter evenings. A city can accumulate long summer days while having very little daylight in winter.
Daylight, not a weather forecast
These are astronomical estimates of the time between sunrise and sunset. Clouds, hills, trees and buildings affect the light you experience. The sky and skyline are illustrations, not live conditions.
